young american she was a young american all night

my sister went to hot hot heat alone tonight. my dad was proad that she's so independant. cute huh?

wow, my life is all fucked up right now with joel being mean and then dumping me and than yelling at me and really bad stuff going down at school but it sounds like things are kinda fucked up in calgary too.

i miss home a lot these days. really bad. i call my mom maybe twice a day and usually end up crying on the phone. i've decided that i'm moving back in april maybe for good. do the last year and a half of my degree than maybe move away for law school. maybe not. that will depend on where i get in. i thought it would take longer for my degree, it seemed that way but here i am getting real close to it being over. the sad part is i still just want to work at the roasterie or get a job at megatunes. maybe i'm immature and maybe i am not responsible but fuck what the hell am i going to do with a political sciene degree anyways. politicize?

i've learnt lots out here. like who my real friends are and that i should remember that. Oh and lots about the charter. i know that bitch inside and out.

i miss my cat, and my sister, and my family, and my friends, and even people who aren't my friends but were always nice to me. i hope greg's moved to austria, he got mean all of the sudden on day and ever since his was a total ass. but that's not bad. he's the only asshole i can think of in all of calgary. and he's not even all that bad.

i'm reading chriteins biography right now. it seemed appropreite. it's boring so far but i figure it'll pick up.

oh and if anyone who reads this sees zak p around give him a hug or a high five. he's rad and should know that.

also here is the unedited chico's article i wrote in like twenty minutes. remember i only had like 250 word and it's my first for reals music article so it's short...

They rock the drums at the same time as the keyboard, seriously. Matt Skilling and Thomas Shields have been rocking Victoria since1997, and with the new release “Shashbo” the silver toned sounds of Run Chico Run show no signs of stopping. The release of “Shashbo” is the next step in the progression of the band was released and hand recorded by the Chico’s and Gareth Gaudin at Victoria’s own magic teeth studio. Their first album was more dance-rock and their second euphonious and introspective. Shashbo is a combination of the first albums with vanguard piano, shoe gazing guitar, and more of their intelligent lyrics, which collectively create a new perspicacious album. The songs don’t seem to follow any succession, according to Thomas “We write and record all the time and just put out something when we have enough songs, hence the unfocused, all over the shop sound of Shashbo”. The Chico’s have been touring “Shashbo” across Canada and played the Pop Explosion Festival in Halifax with bands such as Death from Above and Les Savy Fav. They played the festival on Halloween and had to improvise costumes “Matt and Myself dressed up as teen wolves using extremely limited resources (we glued unraveled yarn to our faces with honey)”. Apparently it only worked well until they “rocked the fuck out” and sweated it off. You can see Run Chico Run for yourselves, freshly back from tour and get yourselves a copy of one of the 500 “Shashbo’s” that were hand screened and hand numbered. They will be playing at Logan’s bar on Friday Nov.28 with Victoria’s other favorite rock band The Fine Options.
